Lee Co. Sheriff’s Office looking for wanted man on arrest warrants

LEESBURG, Ga. – The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man with active arrest warrants.

A deputy with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office made contact with Jason Wade Barnes and his passenger, Samantha Dawn Duthill, in the 100 block of Stapleton Drive in reference to suspicious activity.

Barnes reported that his motorcycle had malfunctioned, and they were seeking assistance from a resident unaffiliated to either Barnes or Duthill. However, Barnes misled the deputy by providing false identity information, leading to the discovery of an active arrest warrant for failure to appear.

During the initial encounter, a smoking device was found in the yard where Barnes and Duthill were positioned. Subsequently, Barnes exhibited indications of overdosing on an unidentified narcotic, necessitating his transportation to the hospital by EMS.
