TIFTON, Ga. – One Tifton resident is having a productive retirement as giving back has become his new calling.

“People are struggling and if it’s anyway possible that I can help them, give them food or give them a meal. I’m out there willing to do my best,” said Lawerence Williams, Golden Deed Award recipient.

Williams has been delivering free meals to the elderly and disabled for the past 10 years.

“A lot of elderly people try to decide rather to buy groceries or get medicine, well this meal kind of helps them out,” he said.

Lawrence says his love of giving back came from his father.

“My dad every year would kill a couple of hogs and spread it around to the community and family members. He had a two acre farm,” he said.

Lawrence Williams has even been awarded the Golden Deed Award in Tifton for his community service.
