CORDELE, Ga. – In a press release from the North Georgia Mountain Authority (NGMA), the lodging facilities inside Lake Blackshear Resort, along with Eight Villas, will be demolished in October.

In December of 2022, at the recommendation of Shear Structural, LLC, the North Georgia Mountain Authority (NGMA) made the decision to close lodging facilities in the Hotel and Eight Villas at Lake Blackshear Resort due to structural concerns. We are currently conducting ground surveys for their planned demolition in October.

RM Woodworth Hotel Advisory Services has been contracted to provide NGMA with recommendations for future redevelopment that are economically viable and meet community needs.

Cypress Grille and the Conference Center will remain open and in service.

“We will continue to update and engage the community throughout this process. For additional questions or comments, please contact the North Ga. Mountains Authority at 770-932-6608.”
