Keep Crisp Beautiful & Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce hold clothing collection initiative

CORDELE, Ga. – Keep Crisp Beautiful and Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce join forces to impact their community with a clothing collection initiative.

With a focus on promoting sustainability and generosity, this effort aims to provide clothing to those in need while fostering a sense of unity within the Cordele-Crisp community.

“KCB will be holding their clothing collection from April 22nd through the 28th and we are accepting gently used items. Anybody can drop off their items in the drive through behind the Chamber and a box will have it labeled and it came about because we really want to, one, keep the clothing out of the landfills here and two its reduce, reuse, recycle so we can either use the items for different things and then we can also give back to our community while helping keep our community clean,” said Emily Vincent, Executive Director, Keep Crisp Beautiful.

“Keep Crisp Beautiful started out up under the Chamber many, many, many years ago, and it became its own entity and separated. And, then, after a lot of years, it evolved back into the Chamber. So, Keep Crisp Beautiful is actually a division of the Chamber, because we want to make sure that we focus on keeping our community clean,” said Monica Simmons, President, Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce.

After receiving donations, Keep Crisp Beautiful and the Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce will coordinate the organization and distribution the garments. They will prioritize specific needs and location, ensuring that the collected clothing is allocated to individuals and communities where it is most needed. This process ensures that every donated item finds its way to those who can benefit from it the most.

“That our overall goal is to help promote keeping Cordele beautiful and clean and educating everybody in the community on what exactly that means. We just want to be there to help and be a support system to our community,” said Vincent.

“Bring those clothes by the drive thru at the Chamber. We’re located at 502 South 2nd Street in Cordele and we’ll make sure that the clothing is put to good use,” said Simmons.
