Teen charged in shooting incident near McDonald’s (1632 E. Oglethorpe Blvd)

ALBANY, Ga. – On March 24, 2025, officers responded to McDonald’s (1632 E. Oglethorpe Blvd) in reference to a shooting. A 16-year-old juvenile told officers that he left the scene after he struck the curb, which caused him to strike two vehicles waiting in the drive-thru. He returned to the scene and parked in a nearby parking lot because he didn’t want to approach the vehicle he struck while it was close to the building.

As he was walking up to the parking space, an unknown male approached him and began firing shots at him. He heard shots and ran for safety. A witness stated that she saw the suspect run towards the juvenile, shooting as he ran away in the parking lot.

The suspect was identified as Thomas Threatts (18), and he was transported to the LEC to be interviewed.

Once officers arrived, Threatts was detained and transported to the LEC to be interviewed, the firearm was recovered in a nearby alley. After further investigation, he was charged with Aggravated Assault and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. He was taken to the Dougherty County Jail.
