Three hikers killed after volcano erupts in Indonesia
At least three people, including Singaporean nationals, were killed and around 20 hikers remain missing after Mount Dukono erupted Friday morning on Halmahera island in Indonesia’s North Maluku province. A local guide who escaped with two German tourists described feeling strong tremors and seeing hikers near the crater just before the sudden blast, which sent a large ash plume skyward and continued erupting into the afternoon.
