NOLAN WELLS DEATH: PARENTS CALL FOR INVESTIGATION

On July 4th, 18-year-old Nolan Wells went out with friends to a popular barrier island off Mississippi. He did not return. Days later, his body was recovered. Investigators are appealing to witnesses on the island for any information about the moments leading up to his death. Complicating matters, Wells is Black whereas most of his friends are White, sparking a debate about race relations. The family has commissioned an independent autopsy amid concerns over how a racially charged investigation could be handled in the state of Mississippi, Crump said in an interview with ABC News Wednesday. “This is the state where Emmett Till was lynched,” Crump said.
