HEALTH MINUTE: RISING FLU CASES CAUSING EARLY CONCERN
Respiratory virus season is in full swing. Right now, the latest data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention shows RSV activity is “very low” in most areas of the country, while Covid-19 cases are elevated in some regions, but declining nationally overall. Viruses that trigger cold-like symptoms are increasing along with infections caused by the Group A strep bacteria. As for seasonal flu, activity is still considered low, but cases are starting to rise. In today’s Health Minute, Mandy Gaither talks to a doctor about what she’s seeing first-hand in her patients and why it’s causing concern for the rest of the virus season.
