It’s one of the world’s deadliest infectious diseases. Malaria caused an estimated 610,000 deaths globally in 2024, according to the World Health Organization. It’s primarily spread through the bite of an infected mosquito, and researchers believe they’ve found a solution to help slow the spread of this disease.
