A Republican mayor who voted for Donald Trump is publicly breaking ranks over a directive to rename Lake Ontario to “Lake America.” Mayor Robert Corradino of Oswego, New York—a city situated on the lake’s southeastern shore—told CNN’s Erin Burnett that the historic body of water is central to his community’s “identity.” “I don’t care if you’re Republican, Democrat, Independent,” Corradino said. “This means a lot to the residents of Oswego and Oswego County.”
