Dem nominee for Congress says she was shoved to ground by officer at anti-ICE protest
Darializa Avila Chevalier, a Democratic socialist who beat a four-term incumbent to win the Democratic nomination for New York’s 13th congressional district — where an ICE shooting took place this week, says she was pushed to the ground by a New York City police officer at an anti-ICE protest. Chevalier tells Erin Burnett, “I have been arrested 3 times in protest and not once have I been slammed to the ground by a police officer.”
