Homicide Investigation in the 1100 block of S. Cleveland St Update

APD provides S. Cleveland St. homicide investigation update

ALBANY, GA – On March 18, 2023, officers responded to a shooting in the 1100 block of S Cleveland Street, around 8:42 P.M.

Upon arrival, officers saw a maroon Nissan Altima, with bullet holes on all sides of the vehicle.

The driver, Antwon Penn (30) succumbed to his injuries from a gunshot wound to the head.

The wife of the driver, Courtney Duncan Penn was found lying on the ground at the location, with a gunshot wound to her head and arm.

She was immediately transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and is in critical condition.

Penn told officers that she and her husband were on the way to pick up a family member from a dance.

She said as they turned onto S. Cleveland St, she started to hear gunfire.

She said their vehicle was being shot at by two suspects standing in the roadway.

She said one of the suspects was wearing a gray hoodie and black pants, and they fled the scene.
