Helene results in catastrophic flooding, humanitarian crisis in southern Appalachians
ANDERSON, S.C., – On the national front, Helene has caused at least 116 deaths across several states, and that number may rise as cleanup and recovery efforts begin.

President Biden has declared a state of emergency for the southern states hit hardest by the storm and plans to visit soon.
Hundreds of FEMA officials are already on the ground in the southeast.
