Gun recovered by police, man charged in social media threat investigation

ALBANY, Ga. — The Dougherty County Police Department has recovered a handgun in connection with a previously reported social media threat incident.

Jermaskie Williams, 32, has been taken into custody and charged with making terroristic threats. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.

The Dougherty County Police Department thanks the Albany Police Department for its swift assistance and coordination during the response.

At this time, there is no threat to the public. Law enforcement officials appreciate the community’s vigilance, cooperation and continued partnership.
