Good Life City Holiday Classic Championships

ALBANY, Ga. – Back at the Albany Civic Center for the Good Life City Holiday Classic

A tournament between 6 different South Georgia Middle Schools…

Competing to win it all.

This marks the second annual Good Life City Holiday Tournament.

Middle schools from Lee County West, Mitchell County, Merry Acres, Radium Springs, and Sumter County are competing, giving these students the chance to play in a major arena before stepping into high school.

“Absolutely. So, when they come in and it’s like, oh my God, we’re in the Civic Center, they’re kind of blown away by how big the space is. And, we deck it out for them to make nice for them. Locker rooms have gifts that we give them shirts. And, so, we just send opportunities for them that they haven’t seen before. So, there excited about playing,” said Cayla Moore, Superintendent for Athletics in Albany.

Multiple games will be played each day, and if your team faces a loss on day one, don’t worry! It’s a double-elimination tournament. However, only one team will be crowned champion in the end.

The Albany Middle School girls kicked off the tournament yesterday with a comeback victory over Sumter County, giving them a strong start as all teams share the same goal.

“I think this is a great opportunity for the girls to put on for their city. They did a great job. They’d had played last year. So, this year we said we’re not leaving without their championship,” said D’Erika Quimbley, Coach, Albany Middle School .

Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.Com or in person at the Georgia’s Own Box Office inside of the Albany Civic Center.

With discounts available for groups over 10 people.

We’ll bring you the final tournament results later this week, so stay tuned to see which team claims victory in the Good Life City Holiday Classic.
