Glowin’ for Preslee 5K shines bright in memory and community spirit in Pitts

Matthew Crumley,

PITTS, Ga. – The community of Pitts is gearing up for a night that truly shines with the Glowin’ for Preslee 5K, happening Saturday, October 25. The fun begins at 5 p.m. at the Old Pitts Gym, with proceeds helping to keep the beloved New Year’s Eve fireworks show going in memory of Preslee Jackson.

Before the race, families can enjoy free trunk-or-treating from 5 to 6:30 p.m., along with vendors, music, and a bouncy house for the kids. Local photographer Christopher Shane Leverett will also be on-site offering free event and family photos. Registration opens at 6 p.m., and the glow run, which features both one-mile and 5K options, starts at 7 p.m.

It’s just $35 to sign up, which includes a t-shirt and free glow sticks for everyone after 6:30 p.m. Runners and walkers alike can expect plenty of glow paint, fun prizes, and a vibrant community atmosphere.

Even if you’re not racing, you’re invited to stop by, enjoy the lights, and take part in the celebration.
