GDOT: Major Roadway Resurfacing Project begins in Clinch County
HOMERVILLE, Ga. – A critical $7 million project to resurface US 441, vital for the safety of motorists and roadway maintenance, will commence on September 11. This will affect travel from the City of Homerville to the Echols County line.
East Coast Asphalt will embark on a 32-mile milling and resurfacing job, starting north of Peach Street in Homerville and extending southbound through Clinch County to the Echols County line. The project is expected to be completed by the end of March 2026, subject to weather conditions.
Lane closures with flagging stations and a pilot vehicle are a reality on this highway that motorists will encounter in the work zone. General work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Work hour restrictions within the City limits of Homerville, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and again from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., have been implemented to minimize disruption to school traffic.
Whenever you approach a work zone: slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; read signs; obey road crew flaggers; and expect the unexpected.
