GBI Requested by Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office to Assist in Murder Investigation
CAMILLA, Ga. – On October 2, 2024, about 1:35 a.m., the GBI was requested to assist in a murder investigation involving a deceased male who was located in the 4300 block of Second Street of a Pelham, Mitchell County, Georgia address.
An agent and crime scene specialist responded to assist Mitchell County Deputies and Investigators who had responded to the scene. Evidence was collected from the scene and agents and investigators began conducting interviews with witnesses and anyone who knew the victim. Evidence collected will be analyzed for any investigative value. No arrests have been made at this time. The body will be sent to the GBI Crime Lab where an autopsy will be performed to aid investigators in the investigation.
This case is active and ongoing and anyone with information on this case is asked to call the GBI Thomasville Office at 229-225-4090. Once complete, it will be turned over to the South Georgia Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.
