GBI arrests woman, investigates 4-year-old death in car in Fitzgerald
FITZGERALD, Ga. – Moving to Fitzgerald, on Wednesday, the Fitzgerald Police Department asked the GBI for assistance in investigating the death of a four-year-old child.
The child reportedly left his apartment unsupervised and eventually got inside a car. He was later found unresponsive inside in the car, and was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
After an investigation, the GBI arrested 30-year-old Kelsey Monaco and charged her with cruelty to children and felony murder.
She was later booked at the Ben Hill County Jail.
