GBI and Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office make arrest in rape, false imprisonment investigation

MOULTRIE, Ga. – On September 28, 2023, about 9:30 a.m., GBI Agents, Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office Investigators assisted by Moultrie Police, arrested Wylie Ladon Sellers, 65 years of age of a Moultrie address and charged him with Aggravated Battery, Rape, and False Imprisonment. The charges stemmed from an investigation that identified a single adult victim.

Sellers was booked and processed on the warrants at the Colquitt County Jail.

The GBI was requested to initiate an investigation by the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office on September 27, 2023. Agents and Colquitt County Investigators began the case that led to a search warrant being executed at Sellers residence. Sellers was arrested during a traffic stop.

This case is active and ongoing and anyone with information on this case is asked to call the GBI Thomasville Office at 229-225-4090. Once complete, it will be turned over to the Southern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
