Flint River Golf Course annual 18 hole tournament

ALBANY, Ga. – Keeping with news in the Good Life City, the Flint River Golf Course hosted its annual 18 hole member and guest golf tournament this morning.

The course typically hosts about one tournament a month, but today’s event was special. Members were given the opportunity to bring guests to either compete or simply enjoy some time on the green.

There wasn’t just one winner, either. Top players from the bracket received various prizes, from 1st to 5th place, ensuring that multiple participants walk away with recognition for their skills.

We spoke with members who shared their enthusiasm for the sport, noting how much they love golf and how the Flint River Golf Course enhances the experience with its stunning views and wildlife.

“Well, the thing I like about Flint River is that all the greens are elevated, so you have to hit up into the greens, which will elevate your game because you want to hit the ball as high as you can. In order for it to land soft on the green. If not, it’ll just roll off. So, that’s one of the special things about this course other than the ponds and the gators. Well, you get a free round of golf, you get a shirt with our crest on it, Flint River. There’s bags, there’s gloves. Anything that has to do with golf,” said R.C. Yearwood, supervisor.

The next tournament is the firefighters’ tournament, scheduled for next weekend.
