Flint Municipal Golf Course holds “Hook a Kid on Golf” summer camp
The camp is designed to empower the youth by immersing them in the world of golf.
ALBANY, Ga. – Albany youth learned how to golf this summer and have the ultimate golfing experience on the Flint Municipal Golf Course with “Hook a Kid on Golf” summer camp.
“The purpose of the program is to get more kids involved in golf, ” said Reynaldo Prendergast, Manager of Flint Municipal Golf Course.
The camp is designed to empower the youth by immersing them in the world of golf.
“Golf is a great sport that you can use for a lifetime. There is a gentleman out here, he’s 94 years old, and he still plays golf. They need to learn a lot of things about this sport,” said Prendergast.
The youth learned how to play from staff at the flint municipal golf course. The camp included educational workshops, group lessons, and individual instruction.
“The kids of this generation, they’re in the house all day on the computer. They need to be out there though, they need something unlike TV. They need to interact with other kids. They need a lot of things that this sport offers,” said Prendergast.
The Flint Municipal Golf Course will have future programs and activities in store for the youth to enjoy.
