Fatal collision with Valdosta City School bus
VALDOSTA, Ga. – At approximately 6:38 am, following numerous 911 calls, Valdosta Police officers, fire fighters, and emergency medical services responded to a traffic accident involving a Valdosta City School bus and a pickup truck in the 1000 block of South Patterson Street.
Upon arrival, responders observed the pickup truck partially underneath the side of the school bus. Tragically, the driver of the pickup truck, an 80-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. None of the six students on the bus sustained injuries.
The accident is currently under investigation by the Valdosta Police Department Traffic Unit.
