Escaped inmates captured, back in custody in Sumter Co. Jail

AMERICUS, Ga. – The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office would like to announce the capture of escaped inmates, Rickey Martin and Kentravious Holmes. Both were located at a residence on 1st Montgomery Street in Americus, Ga.

Sheriff Eric D. Bryant and the members of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region 3, GBI, Georgia State Patrol, Federal Marshals, Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force- Albany, Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, Americus Police Department and the Deputies of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the investigation and capture of these fugitives.

Both Holmes and Martin were taken into custody without incident.

A third subject was detained on scene.

Sheriff Eric D. Bryant would like to thank the citizens of Sumter County and Southwest Georgia for their cooperation and patience in allowing the members of Law Enforcement to do their duties.
