The caller also reported that the vehicle stopped abruptly in the roadway and the driver exited and fled on foot.

Deputies responded to the area near Monrovia Growers and located the vehicle stopped in the roadway as described. A search of the immediate area was conducted, and deputies observed a male subject hiding in a nearby field at Monrovia Growers in an apparent attempt to conceal himself.

Deputies made contact with the individual, who initially provided a false name. He was later positively identified as Tommy Johnson. A records check revealed Johnson had active warrants out of both Leon County and Grady County.

Further investigation determined Johnson was operating the vehicle while his driver’s license was suspended. Johnson was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While License Suspended and Giving False Name to Law Enforcement, in addition to the outstanding warrants.

Johnson was transported without incident to the Grady County Jail for booking.
