East Albany Church giving back to the Good Life City

ALBANY, Ga. – After a year of giving back to the community nearly every weekend, the members of this east Albany church are ending the year doing what they’ve always strived to do, improve lives in the Good Life City.

Pastor Calvin Rollins says that with December being the season of giving, the members of St. Paul’s Baptist Church in east Albany are giving back on multiple fronts.

“The end of the year is always difficult for some people because it’s Christmas time, the holiday season. And, we know there are people who don’t have. And, so, this is a good way to end the year of making sure we give back to our community, to make sure they have something during these holiday seasons…” said Pastor Calvin Rollins, St. Paul’s Baptist Church.

For the congregation at St. Paul’s it’s business as usual like nearly every weekend….

“…It just feels great for us to do that. Having such a great group of people here at our church with the heart to give out to our community. So, I think that’s basically what’s really important, that we give. And this time of year, it’s cold, so we’re giving out coats. So, it’s very important and that’s what really brings us home,” said Pastor Rollins.

And, for Pastor Rollins giving back is simple…

Because others simply wouldn’t have if they didn’t do anything.

“It means a lot because some wouldn’t have. Some wouldn’t have the meals we’re giving, and some wouldn’t have the clothes. No other shoes or some of the items we’re giving as well. So, that means a lot to me, because the Bible tells our church, our members, and our people to take care of our people,” said Pastor Rollins.

In a year where St. Paul’s has done what they can to help improve lives, they’re in the giving spirit beyond the holiday season.

The clothing giveaway for St. Paul’s will take place at 9 a.m. this Saturday at the church on Sylvester Highway…

Their food drive will take place, Saturday, December 16th, also at the church.
