Drug raid, firearm seized at Ben Hill County residence
BEN HILL, Co., Ga. – A coordinated effort between the Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office and the Fitzgerald Police Department led to the arrest of a wanted suspect and the confiscation of illegal drugs and a firearm.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, members of the Special Operations Division and Uniform Patrol Division, assisted by Fitzgerald Police, executed a search warrant on February 18, 2026, at a home in the 200 block of West Orange Street.
During the search, investigators seized a firearm, approximately half an ounce of a mixture containing methamphetamine and fentanyl, 3.5 grams of marijuana, and several items commonly associated with the weighing, packaging, distribution, and use of controlled substances.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
The Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office reaffirmed its commitment to protecting and serving the community, adding that addressing illegal drug activity requires cooperation between law enforcement and residents.
