DPH updates on recent surge in norovirus and flu illnesses
ALBANY, Ga. – And… as we continue to deal with multiple winter-time illnesses in our area, we sat down with the Department of Public Health (DPH) about protecting yourself.
The Department of Public Health (DPH) says they’ve seen an increase in respiratory viruses as well as norovirus and flu to name a couple.
Here’s Public Information Officer Meghan Herendeen.
“Prevention is key when it comes to preventing any kind of respiratory illness, things like hand hygiene, making sure you’re washing your hands, using hand sanitizer and wiping down high touch surfaces. Other things we recommend would be if you are sick to stay home,” said Meghan Herendeen, Public Information Officer, Dept. of Public Health.
And… DPH suggests if you haven’t done so already to get your flu shot to make sure you’re prepared.
