Dougherty County Public Library encourages Library Card Sign-up Month

September 9, 2024
Matthew Crumley, De'Andra Jacobs,

ALBANY, Ga. – September is Library Card Sign Up Month, and the Dougherty County Public Library is joining libraries across the state to encourage everyone to explore their valuable resources.

With a new library card, patrons of Georgia public libraries can access a wide variety of resources to support their personal and professional growth.

Whether it’s learning new job skills, participating in a book club, or conducting research for a school project, the library offers diverse opportunities for engagement.

Families can also take advantage of educational activities, such as story time for young children. Additionally, all Georgia public libraries provide free resources like eRead Kids, designed for students in Pre-K through 4th grade, and cater to readers of all ages and interests.

Patrons can also enjoy high-speed wi-fi and check out laptops, further enhancing their learning experience.

With five local branches – the Dougherty County Public Library is dedicated to strengthening the community by fostering life-long learning.

Stay tuned for further coverage on how you can sign up and obtain your very own library card.
