Dougherty County Police Department Detective Division clears majority of armed robbery cases in 2025
ALBANY, Ga. — Through focused teamwork and sustained investigative efforts, the Dougherty County Police Department Detective Division has achieved a strong clearance rate in armed robbery cases investigated throughout 2025.
During the year, detectives investigated six armed robberies, four of which occurred within the past month. As a result of diligent casework, collaboration and follow-through, five of the six cases have been cleared through arrests. The remaining case remains under active investigation, with arrests anticipated before the end of the year.
“Our detectives consistently demonstrate professionalism, persistence and a deep commitment to this community,” said Chief Kenneth Johnson, Dougherty County Police Department. “Clearing five of six-armed robbery cases speaks volumes about their dedication and teamwork. We will continue to pursue every case until those responsible are held accountable.”
While the statistics reflect armed robbery cases only, the same detectives have also successfully investigated and cleared numerous violent crimes, property crimes, sex crimes, financial crimes and other felony offenses throughout the year.
The results highlight the Detective Division’s proactive approach, commitment to accountability and continued focus on protecting the safety and well-being of the Dougherty County community.
