Dougherty County Coroner’s Office 2024 Swim For Life program exceeds goals with 600+ participants
ALBANY, Ga. – In a follow up to a story we brought you earlier this summer, the Dougherty County Coroner’s Office has released the final numbers for the 2024 Swim For Life program.
Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler, who spearheads the program, announced that over 600 participants signed up for this year’s Swim For Life program.
The original goal was to enroll 500 children in swimming lessons in an effort to reduce the risk of drowning deaths.
Fowler personally thanked the various community partners involved in Swim For Life, including the Boys and Girls Club of Albany, the Albany Area YMCA, and Albany State University (ASU), for providing the facilities needed to teach kids how to swim.
