Dougherty Co. new outdoor warning sirens project reaches final stages, residents to hear testing on Wednesday

ALBANY, Ga. – Dougherty County’s outdoor warning sirens project is nearing completion. Technicians from Sirens for Cities, Inc. have fine-tuned the radio communications with the new sirens, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.

As the project enters its final phase, a system-wide live test is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM. This live test is essential to validate the newly installed sirens’ effectiveness and identify any potential areas for improvement before the system is officially commissioned.

Residents are advised that during the live test, they may hear the sirens intermittently throughout the city and county.
