Dexter Scott King’s legacy

MALIBU, Cal. – In other news, the youngest son of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has passed away.

Dexter Scott King passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Malibu, California on Monday after battling prostate cancer. He was 62 years of age.

His wife, Leah Weber King, described his fight against the disease as one of bravery and might. Martin Luther King III, his brother, expressed the devastating shock of the sudden loss.

A graduate of Morehouse College, his father’s alma mater, Dexter Scott King served as the Chairman of The King Center and President of the King Estate. He did not have any children.
