Dept. of Juvenile Justice Career Fair at Terrell Regional Youth Detention Center
DAWSON, Ga. – The Department of Juvenile Justice offers job seekers a unique opportunity to explore employment options.
The Department of Juvenile Justice host a career fair at the Terrell Regional Youth Detention Center, seeking to recruit qualified candidates and make a meaningful impact on the younger generation.
“So, Juvenile Correctional Officer positions are my expertise because I am the recruiting coordinator for those positions specifically. But, we do need people in the community to have a huge impact on our youth. So, we’re looking to hire, I want to say about every week for those individuals that want to have an impact on the youth,” said Jacqueline Hayes, Department of Juvenile Justice Recruiter Coordinator.
The Department of Juvenile Justice is offering career opportunities to the community, seeking to fill multiple positions, such as Juvenile Correctional Officers, detention counselors, food service workers, housekeepers, and general staff.
Jacqueline Hayes, Recruitment Coordinator for the Department of Juvenile Justice, provides further details about employment opportunities.
“We have facility job fairs about once a month, depending on the facility and the need for hire. But, we also have walk-in interview days, which are Tuesdays and Thursdays of every week. Anybody interested in Juvenile Correctional Officer positions or food service worker positions are good to go to come in and interview on Tuesdays and Thursdays,” said Hayes.
Jacqueline Hayes outlines the requirements for these positions.
“The requirements are that you have to be 18 years of age or older, have a high school diploma or GED, be a U.S. Citizen, you’re able to pass a criminal background check. Once you are good with all those, you can feel free to apply. The website is djj.Georgia.Gov/careers. If you are interested in being a juvenile correctional officer. We need individuals that want to have a huge impact on our youth in the facility, so feel free to apply on any given day. But, those Tuesdays and Thursdays, you’re more than welcome to come to the facility and apply directly,” said Hayes.
