Crisp County C4 Christian Learning Program provides brighter futures for lives of youth
CORDELE, Ga. – The Crisp County C4 Program paves the way for brighter futures for the youth.
Operating out of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Cordele, the C4 Program, also known as Christian Learning, is integrated into the curriculum for Crisp county students.
“So, the parents they elect for their children to take the program. It is considered at one their connections at the Crisp County Middle School. The program is geared towards nurturing the children in Christ. We give them Jesus, we give them the word of God all day long,” said Lakesia Hardage-Law, director, Crisp County C4 Program.
The program offers an engaging environment where children actively participate in lessons that have had a profound impact on their outlook on life.
“The children this year are very excited about C4. They’ve been very engaged, asking several questions. We’ve had many say that they’ve joined to get a closer relationship with God. We’ve had so many say they want to get to know God. You have a lot that say, “I didn’t go to church, but now I want to go to church.” So, they’ve been very, very interested in what we’re doing here and they’ve been participating. Which lets me know that they are enjoying the program, they’re enjoying learning about God,” said Hardage-Law.
The program is seeking support from the community to further its mission of brightening the lives of these young learners.
“We are not a government funded program. The government does not fund biblical Christian programs that are partnered with the school system. What we do is we run strictly off of donations. So, whatever donations we get, we use them to continue to fund the program. We use them to write the curriculum, purchase books, Bibles, to pay our workers. We do need the help of the community,” said Hardage-Law.
C4 remains dedicated to providing students with a positive outlet during challenging times.
“Children are our tomorrow, and without God, nothing is impossible. And, so, many times in today’s society, a lot of people don’t talk to their kids about God. And, he is our foundation. If we stand on him now, we know that we can make it through anything. So, our young people, they face a lot of challenges. So, we try our best to give them the world according to God’s way. We give them an alternative, and that is the word of God,” said Hardage-Law.
