Crisp Co. Sheriff’s Office warns of Apple ID text message scam

CORDELE, Ga. – The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is alerting residents to a text message scam circulating in the area that falsely claims to be from Apple.

According to authorities, the messages state there has been unusual activity on the recipient’s Apple ID and instruct individuals to click a link or call a provided phone number. Officials say the number connects to a fraudulent support line, not Apple.

The sheriff’s office warns that clicking the link, calling the number, or sending money in response to the message could lead to the theft of personal or financial information. Residents are urged to avoid engaging with the message and to report suspicious activity.
