Crisp Co. Middle School honors fallen Deputy Tyee Browne

CORDELE, Ga. – A touching ceremony took place earlier today during halftime of the Crisp County Middle School football game.

The community came together to celebrate and honor the brave Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, with a special focus on paying tribute to the memory of the heroic fallen Deputy Tyee Browne.

Browne was killed in the line of duty back in early July during a traffic stop that led to the 26-year-old being shot by 25-year-old Croshawn Gerard Cross, who then stole the police cruiser and led officers on a high-speed chase before being stopped in Monroe county.

Many people across Georgia mourned the loss of Browne, but today he was honored during the Cougars’ Middle School game as his mother accepted a signed jersey and helmet from the school.

We continue to keep the Browne family in our thoughts during this difficult time.
