Crisp Co. employees graduate from UGA Cooperative Extension’s EFNEP “Food Talk” Lunch & Learn Program
CORDELE, Ga. – A group of county employees celebrated their graduation this week from a program aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles through practical education.
On May 20, 2025, seven local employees completed the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) Food Talk: Lunch & Learn, delivered by the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension. The course focuses on helping participants make informed decisions about nutrition, physical activity, and food safety. It also provides tips on managing food resources and includes hands-on recipe demonstrations.
Graduates of the program include Desmond Edwards, Shonna Josey, Vicky Kraft, Ruby Merritt, Angel Bullock, Eric Cannon, and Denise Clark-Dumas.
The course was led by Vanessa Washington, an EFNEP educator with UGA, who guided the group through interactive lessons and practical strategies they can now take back to their families and communities.
EFNEP is offered across Georgia in various community settings, aiming to empower individuals with knowledge that supports long-term health and wellness.
