Crafternoon Christmas at Victoria Evans Memorial Library in Ashburn
ASHBURN, Ga. – The holidays are a time for family, fun, and everything in between, and Victoria Evans Memorial Library spread joy with a Crafternoon for all to enjoy.
“We have offered to for families to come in and enjoy time spending together, to make gifts to provide to their other family members,” said Kristen Harrington, Regional Library Programming Director.
And, no matter how old or young you are, everyone can enjoy…
“Umm making crafts,” said a participant of Crafternoon.
Being creative and innovative, especially around the holidays opens up endless possibilities for the perfect gift.
“When you’re creative you get your mind flowing; that opens up the door all types of adventure. The possibilities are endless and if you open that door for imagination for children their worlds just grow and grow,” said Harrington.
Participants of this Crafternoon had a plethora of decorative tools to create the craft of their liking.
“We have penguin, we have bookmarks, we have memory boxes for you know grandparents to enjoy. We have little sticker crafts for the little babies too,” said Harrington.
Programming director Kristen Harrington says holding these types of events for children is her life’s work.
“My job is literally my life. I love the library world itself and what we stand for; that everyone is welcome, everyone comes in and enjoys their time,” said Harrington.
But, at the end of the day, the holidays mean more than just gifts.
“Cherish these moments with your families, cherish these moments with your loved ones because one day you won’t all be together,” said Carl Hobbs, Victoria Evans Memorial Library, employee.
Happy holidays!
