Cordele city manager dismissed following city meeting over contract disputes

CORDELE, Ga. – As of February 18, 2026, the City of Cordele, Georgia, is searching for a new city manager following the dismissal of Angela H. Redding.

Cordele City Attorney, Tommy Coleman confirmed the decision was made Tuesday, February 17, 2026, following a city meeting.

Cordele Mayor Wesley Rainey, said the decision stemmed from contract issues.

Redding had served as city manager since January 2022, managing day-to-day operations under a Council-Manager form of government.

The position is currently vacant, with no interim replacement immediately named following the termination over contract disputes.
