Cook County Schools respond to “possible weapon” on elementary campus

SPARKS, Ga. – Law enforcement officials and school safety personnel responded to a report of a “possible weapon” on the Cook Elementary School campus according to a post on the school district’s Facebook page:

“On Friday, November 7th, the administration received information of a possible weapon on CES campus. This prompted the swift response of CES and CMS Administrators, School Resource Officers, and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. The situation was handled swiftly and appropriately. At no time was there an immediate or active threat to our students or staff. We are thankful for the proactive measures in place and the strong partnership with our safety agencies. The safety and well-being of our students and staff will always be our highest priority, and we remain committed to keeping our schools’ secure and supportive learning environments.”
