Cook Co. EMA activates “Reaching Cook” new citizen emergency alert system ahead of Helene

ADEL, Ga. – Cook county residents also have a reliable way to stay informed about weather issues, thanks to a new text alert system for the area.

It’s called “Reaching Cook”, and it’s an emergency notification system powered by Hyper Reach.

Originally set for October 1st, it has been activated early due to the approaching storm.

“Reaching Cook” already has over one thousand people signed up, and it’s helping everyone stay informed ahead of Helene.

City of Adel Fire Chief/Cook Co. EMA Johnny West told us he’s seen a positive response.
