Conger LP Gas in Tifton holds Hometown Heroes back to school donation event
School supply donations will be given to foster children. Community support for our local heroes creates a stronger community.
TIFTON, Ga. – The Conger LP Gas company in Tifton hosted its 3rd annual Hometown Heroes and back to school donation event, to show appreciation for local police and firefighters and donate for a special cause.
“Going to get some school supplies, bringing it in and while they’re here helping in the event, there helping kids in the community, so everybody’s a hero today,” said Kirsten McAlpin, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Conger LP Gas.
School supply donations will be given to foster children.
“Everything that’s brought in is going to go towards C.A.S.A, which is a court appointed special advocate for foster children,” Dan Richardson, President & CEO of Conger LP Gas.
Children from across Tifton also came to show support for local law enforcement and firefighters.
“They rescue people and they help people,” Branton Wade, event participant.
Community support for our local heroes creates a stronger community.
“We’re their friends not their enemies, and that’s what we try to project to the public that we’re there for them,” said Sheriff Gene Scarbrough, Tift County Sheriff’s Office.
Because at the end of the day…
“Everything that we do can’t do without the support of our community,” said Tyler Atkinson, Tifton Fire Inspector.
