Conger LP Gas Hometown Heroes event
TIFTON, Ga. – Conger LP Gas celebrates the spirit of community and heroism.
The business hosted its Hometown Heroes event for the youth of Tifton, honoring essential workers who make a difference in our daily lives.
“Well, we moved to this office back in 2018, and in 2019 we wanted to do a fun back-to-school event and we thought of ‘Hometown Heroes,’ a way to highlight all the amazing different organizations and first responders that help out in our community and keep us safe. So, there is a lot going on here today. We have Kona Ice here. We have Bingo and Bluey here. But, the big thing is we have the first responders with their vehicles,” said Kirsten McAlpin, Marketing & Public Relations Director.
Children and community members had the opportunity to connect with local heroes from law enforcement, the medical field, the military, and local government.
“Maybe they want to be a firefighter or a police officer. This is a way they can come out, actually get to sit in the vehicle and see what it’s like, try on the equipment. And of course too, I think it’s helpful whenever they are out in the community and they see that first responder that they’re not afraid of them, that they know what to do. They see that smiling face maybe that they saw here and they’ll comfortable and know that they’re a safe person to talk to,” said McAlpin.
Conger LP Gas extends a heartfelt message of gratitude to the local heroes of the community.
“Here at Conger LP Gas, we are so proud to be part of our community and we know we would not be anywhere without the people that keep our community safe and going. So, thank you to all of the first responders, we have utility companies here, we have so many here that keep our community safe and running. So, thank you so much. And, thank you to everyone who came out today. It’s been just beyond our imagination how it turned out,” said McAlpin.
