Colquitt County NAACP to host 39th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration Parade set for Monday, January 19th in downtown Moultrie
MOULTRIE, Ga. – Plans are already underway for a longtime community tradition in Colquitt County, the 39th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration Parade in downtown Moultrie. The parade is set for Monday, January 19, at 2 p.m., and is open to the entire community.
This year’s theme, “The Fierce Urgency of Now,” honors the life, legacy, and continued call to action of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event is sponsored by the Colquitt County NAACP and will follow its traditional route through downtown Moultrie.
Organizers are now accepting parade participants, including floats, marching groups, and community organizations. Participation is free, but applications must be submitted by Sunday, January 12, for those who want to take part in the parade. Floats will be judged, with awards presented for first, second, and third place.
Parade lineup begins at 1 p.m. in front of First Presbyterian Church at 501 First Street SE, with the parade concluding near First Baptist Church on South Main Street.
