Colquitt Co. man arrested and charged in rape case
Hartsfield, Georgia, November 17, 2025: On Sunday, November 16, 2025, the GBI was requested by the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office to assist in a rape investigation that took place at a Colquitt County address. GBI Agents, including a crime scene specialist and Colquitt County Investigators began working on the case.
During the investigation, it was determined that the victim was known to the alleged offender. Agents and Investigators served a search warrant at the property where the alleged crimes took place. Various evidence was collected during the investigation that will be processed for any evidentiary value. Hayden Lee Gandy, 33 yoa, was arrested on November 17th, 2025, around 2:30 a.m., at a Riggs Store Road., Hartsfield, Georgia, address. Gandy has been charged with one count of rape, and one count of aggravated sodomy. The alleged offenses occurred on November 16th, 2025, in Colquitt County, Georgia. He was transported to the Colquitt County Jail where he was booked on the above charges.
This case is active and ongoing and anyone with information on this case is asked to call the GBI Thomasville Office at 229-225-4090. Once complete, it will be turned over to the Southern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for review.
