Coffee County Youth Coalition offers Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
DOUGLAS, Ga. – The Coffee County Youth Coalition is helping the community learn how to make a difference in the lives of young people through a Youth Mental Health First Aid training on Thursday, November 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The full-day workshop will take place at The H-Building, 1020 Gaskin Avenue South in Douglas, and is open to parents, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, and community members who want to better understand and support youth facing mental health or substance use challenges.
Participants will learn how to:
- 
Recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use struggles in youth ages 12-18
 - 
Understand risk factors and warning signs
 - 
Respond with confidence and compassion
 - 
Connect youth with appropriate help and community resources
 
The training is free, but space is limited to just 30 participants, so early registration is encouraged.
