ALBANY, Ga. – Due to the threat of severe weather, here is a list of businesses, schools, colleges/universities and civic organizations that are closed or have delayed opening for

Friday, January 12, 2024:

Schools:

  • Albany Beauty Academy – Closed Friday
  • Albany Boys and Girls Club – Closed Friday
  • Albany Technical College – Closed at Noon Friday – all activities canceled
  • Baker County Schools – Early dismissal – Baker County Elementary will dismiss at 11:50 a.m. Baker County Middle School will dismiss at 11:55 a.m. Baker County High School will dismiss at 12 p.m.
  • Baconton Charter School – Early dismissal – 1:30 p.m. Friday
  • Calhoun County Schools – Closed Friday
  • Mitchell County Schools – Early dismissal – Mitchell County Primary School will begin dismissal at 12:30 p.m., Mitchell County Elementary School at 12:40 p.m., Mitchell County Middle School at 12:40 p.m., and Mitchell County High School at 12:45 p.m.
  • Stewart County Schools – Virtual Learning Day
  • Sumter County Schools – Closed Friday – Staff report at 8 a.m. – Classes resume on Tuesday
  • Terrell County Charter Schools – Early dismissal – at Noon Friday
  • Westwood Schools – Early dismissal – K-3 through first grade will begin dismissal at 11:30 a.m. Second-grade through Twelfth grade will dismiss at 11:45 a.m.
