City of Tifton in partnership with UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government to host Short & Paulk Renaissance Project Community Input Session

TIFTON, Ga. – The City of Tifton, in partnership with the UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government, is hosting a public visioning session for the Short & Paulk Renaissance Project on Tuesday, February 17th at 6:00 PM at the former Short & Paulk site. This a major downtown redevelopment initiative, and the project focuses on transforming the former 9.7-acre industrial site into a vibrant, community-focused space.

Tifton’s leaders reached out to the UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government about the Renaissance Strategic Visioning and Planning (RSVP) program. RSVP is a partnership between the Institute of Government, the Georgia Municipal Association and the Georgia Cities Foundation. Since 2013, the program has helped 25 communities across Georgia re-envision their downtowns, invigorate citizen involvement and jump-start economic development.

What is the Short & Paulk Renaissance Project? The Short & Paulk Renaissance Project is a major downtown redevelopment initiative in Tifton that aims to transform the former 9.7-acre Short & Paulk supply property into a community focused space. The community centered planning process is led by UGA’s Carl Vinson Institute. The goal is to revitalize the area with community input to create something beneficial for the City’s future.
