City of Cordele employees “Pink Out” for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

CORDELE, Ga. – The City of Cordele showed its support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Thursday, October 30th, as city employees dressed in pink to raise awareness and encourage early detection.

According to national health statistics, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

City Manager Angela Redding emphasized the importance of proactive care, saying, “Regular screenings, early detection, and healthy lifestyle choices are your best defense against breast cancer.”

Breast cancer remains one of the most common forms of cancer among women, representing 15.5% of all new cancer cases in the United States.

The City of Cordele encourages women to begin regular breast cancer screenings at age 40, or earlier based on individual risk factors, as part of its ongoing effort to promote community health and awareness.
